Being a vivacious, colorful brand like Beauty Blender means that all of your packaging has to match that same loud energy and create a fun unboxing experience for influencers and consumers. When Beauty Blender decided to come out with a make-up line that included primers and foundations, they needed imaginative packaging to showcase these products and WOW influencers. That’s where we came in on the “Ace Your Base” and the “Bounce” kits.
The “Ace Your Base” kit that included the three primers – Hydrate, Smooth and Protect - was modeled after Digipak CDs. Remember those round skinny discs you listened to on your Walkman? Every SKU in the kit was presented as a “Greatest Hit” or “New Release.” It makes sense given that primers are the first step to applying face make-up. The “Bounce” kit was a library and archive of all foundations they had developed to date. Each foundation was individually packaged inside a book that included details about the benefits of the foundation. These kits weren’t created for one-time use, but were intended to remain on bathroom counter tops and vanities and used as storage of make-up, jewelry and other important goods. They were a marketing piece to keep Beauty Counter at the top of mind always.
